Both have a microphone socket, a built-in loudspeaker and two headphone sockets, and can be set as a participant, dual use or chairperson device. Choose the WDE where participants vote or log in with NFC cards.
What does the touch screen show?
The 4.3-inch capacitive touch screen shows your custom logo (uploaded in the access point web interface), the speaker list and the request list, with the user interface in several languages in their original characters. With an identification license it shows a welcome screen with the participant's details after login.
How does NFC identification work?
With a DCNM-LSID license, participants log in by holding their NFC card to the device (ISO/IEC 14443 Type A, MIFARE). You can allow login only at assigned seats or at any seat, and names show on the device and in the web browser interface. A WDE can also be set as an NFC reader to link new cards to participants quickly.
How do participants vote?
With a DCNM-LSVT license (ask us), voting is run from the access point web interface: enter the topic and pick an answer set (for/against, yes/no, with or without abstain). Participants confirm their presence and vote with coloured buttons on the screen, and see the results as coloured bar graphs. In dual use both participants vote at the same time with their own buttons, so the device needs two LSVT licenses.
How long does the battery last?
Over 20 hours (20% speaking, 80% listening) on a fully charged DCNM-WLIION2. The pack swaps in seconds, and the access point web interface shows battery status per seat. A DCNM-WCH05 charges five packs at once in about three hours.
Can participants listen on headphones?
Yes. Each device has two 3.5 mm stereo headphone sockets, left and right, each with its own volume control, so the speaker is clear even in a noisy room. The built-in loudspeaker and microphone can be on at the same time for a face-to-face feel; a built-in feedback suppressor prevents howling.
Is a microphone included?
No. DICENTIS discussion devices come without a microphone, so you choose one for each seat: the DCNM-HDMIC high directive microphone, or the DCNM-MICS (short) or DCNM-MICL (long) stem microphone. All three click into the same socket.
The screw-lock DCNM-MICSLS / DCNM-MICSLL are for flush seats and do not fit these devices.
What do I need for a DICENTIS Wireless system?
DICENTIS Wireless runs stand-alone, with no central control unit. You need:
- One DCNM-WAP access point: controls up to 120 DICENTIS devices. You set up and run the meeting from its web browser interface on a tablet or laptop.
- A wireless device per seat: DCNM-WD for discussion, or DCNM-WDE with a touch screen and NFC reader.
- A microphone per device: DCNM-HDMIC, DCNM-MICS or DCNM-MICL.
- A battery pack per device: DCNM-WLIION2, charged five at a time in the DCNM-WCH05.
- Optional licenses for dual use, identification, voting and camera control.
Typical coverage is 30 x 30 m per access point. A second WAP can be set up as a secondary access point for redundancy and meeting continuity.
Which licenses does DICENTIS Wireless use?
Discussion works without a license. These functions are added with licenses, activated in the DCNM-WAP web browser interface:

Identification and voting work on the DCNM-WDE only. Each license is delivered as an activation code by e-mail.
Will DICENTIS Wireless interfere with our Wi-Fi?
No. It uses standard Wi-Fi (IEEE 802.11n) in the license-free 2.4 GHz and 5 GHz bands and is designed to co-exist with other Wi-Fi networks, mobile phones and access points nearby.
- Automatic channel switching: the access point moves to another channel seamlessly.
- Range test: checks that every device is in range on any channel the system may use.
- Packet loss concealment: masks lost packets in the audio.
- WPA2 encryption: protects against eavesdropping and unauthorized access.
No extra Wi-Fi router is needed: the tablet used for control connects to the DCNM-WAP directly.

Warranty is carry-in: bring the unit to our office in Dubai and after inspection it is repaired or replaced as needed.
